About The Cathedral

The Cathedral of New Harvest exists to fulfill the great commission found in Matthew Chapter 29 verse 19-20.

V.19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.  V.20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Vision

We believe that through strong belief unwavering faith and through a redeeming grace and mercy of Jesus Christ that the world can and will be changed to bring the dark into the light, thus further observing and fulfilling the great commission.

We envision the New Testament church to be that of a Christ centered and spirit led church, embarking as Christ did to reach out to the meek and low in spirit, giving hope to a generation though spiritual and physical restoration though his divine methods and patterns of servitude to people. By nurturing the physical needs such as feeding the hungry and clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless and by spiritedly healing all the sick in body and spirit, giving hope to the hopeless by spreading the gospel of Christ of salvation and of His unselfish love, grace and mercy.

We will be a progressive people who will dedicate ourselves as Christ dedicated himself as a living sacrifice for us to the people of the world. On everyday in every way employing and empowering, rejuvenating and restoring power to God's children though the preaching, teaching and demonstrative work of the Holy Spirit. The infallible and authorative written word of God combined with Christian servitude, hard work and dedication in seeking salvation for all who hear and believe in Him though out the world.

Mission
We believe in the Bible just as it is for people right where they are. Our mission encourages non-Christians to become Christians and Christians to become more like Christ. We do this through a balance of Evangelism. Discipleship, Fellowship, Worship and Service.

Purpose
To be a catalyst in Houston, Texas and throughout the world for Christ, by leading the Local , National and International Church body through the practical applications of ministering as shown by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Specifically to establish success in five area's of our God given purpose.

1. Love the lord with all thy Heart.

We seek to accomplish this through true Praise and Worship. This can best be defined as an expression of our love for God through strong group and personal worship, i.e. singing of worship songs and fellowshipping.

"Worship the Lord your God and serve him only." Matthew 4:10.

2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

We seek God's divine help first in this purpose and seek to accomplish this purpose through ministering.

This purpose of ministering can best be described as demonstrating God's love to others by helping them to meet their needs, physically and spiritually as well as praying for the healing of all hurts in the name of Jesus.

"And he gave some, Apostles; and some Prophets, and some Evangelists, and some Pastors and Teachers;"

"For the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-12.

3. Go and make disciples.

We know this purpose as Evangelism. This is a crucial and expected task told to us by Jesus in the form of "The Great commission," found in Matthew 28:18-20.

"All power given unto me in Heaven and in Earth."

"Go ye therefore, an detach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded of you: and Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the World. Matthew 28:18-20

We do this by going among the people to communicate and share God's Holy Word, as Ambassadors for Christ, speaking specifically of his divine purpose, His birth, His death on the cross, His resurrection and his promise of returning.

4. Baptizing

Baptism means to be submerged or put under. It is best defined as a ceremony of admitting a person into Christianity or as a symbol of washing away of sins for a spiritual purification.

We seek to accomplish this purpose by not only converting others but by spiritually leading and teaching and praying for the "spiritual" baptism of all Gods children, couple with the physical symbolic water baptism.

"John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water: but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire."

"Known ye. Not, that so many of us as were baptized into his death?"

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up form the dead by the Glory of the Father, even so we also in the likeness of his resurrection."

"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

"For he that is dead is Freed from Sin." Romans 6:3-7.

"Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of Sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

"For the promise is unto you, and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." Acts 2:38-39.

5. Teaching them to obey.

This purpose we pray to be effective at through the form of strong Discipleship. Discipleship can best be described as helping people understand who they are in God's eye and also helping them to become more like Christ in their feelings towards all God's children, their thoughts, actions.

"Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, into a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive."

"But speaking the truth in Love may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ." Ephesians 4:13-15.
